These signs of rising damp would typically be evident to a height of around 1 metre from the ground level of the property.

Time and time again we visit properties that have already had some form of damp proof course either original or an attempt to rectify including injection, bitumen, slate etc.  Sometimes these damp proof courses can fail.  They also may never have been installed.  In the event of a damaged or absent damp proof course, a property has no protection from ground water being absorbed by the porous materials that make up your wall.  Some of these original damp proof courses may have been bridged by the rising of internal and external flooring, some may have just deteriorated over time.
